Private Sessions

Private sessions are the fastest way to progress in Pilates.
When working one-on-one, we were able to customize each workout to suit your individual needs; whether it’s helping you rehabilitate an injury, change poor postural habits, gain a competitive edge as an athlete, or just alleviate muscle imbalances and stress. No matter what brings you to us initially, you will experience the many benefits of increased strength, flexibility, improved posture, better alignment and awareness, leading to an overall sense of well-being.

Semi-Private Sessions

Semi-Private sessions offer similar benefits to private sessions. although you and another person share the attention of the instructor, The instructor will still tailor the exercises to your unique needs. Bring your significant other, a friend, a parent or your teenager/grown child. It’s cost effective and fun!

Therapeutic Exercises

When we were children, our parents often told us to stand up straight, but rarely did they tell us how or why. Had they known about the principle of ideal alignment, they might have elaborated. Ideal alignment creates the optimal relationship among body segments and the optimal relationship between the body and its immediate environment. Proper alignment is a dynamic stance that creates maximum stability, movement function, joint freedom and the optimal relationship to gravity. In our sessions I will analyze and evaluate your body posture, and we will discuss the basic principles relating to alignment.

Is pain your biggest concern? Pain can come not only from the poor alignment, but heredity, aging, an accident or a disease; whatever the cause, it is a warning that something is wrong. We will learn about the pain and bad postural habits that can result from daily activities such as repetitive movements on computers, sitting on poorly designed office chairs for extended periods, driving on airplane travel. I will analyze imbalanced muscles including tight muscles that create stress and loose ones that create joint instability. I will help correct these problems by creating a customized holistic exercise program which will help reprogram the mind-body connection so that muscles will begin to work together as a team.

In some cases, I will work in conjunction with a physician orthopedist, physical therapist, chiropractor or massage therapist if that is necessary to provide the best program for the client.

Mat Group Classes

These are small group classes that teach all of the Pilates principles on floor mats. Commitment to learning the mat work will allow you to have a “take-home” workout that will keep you in shape. Classes are divided by skill level because Pilates is developmental. It is important to learn how to perform the basic movements safely before moving on to higher levels.

Pilates for Teens

Research has shown that athletic training has a significant, beneficial impact on body composition, motor skills, aerobic power, bone density and skeletal muscle development. A well-designed exercise program can help children improve their athletic skills and provide an enjoyable experience that will promote life-long fitness, and so I created Pilateens®, a Core Conditioning program for teenage athletes and non-athletes alike. It helps to stretch and to strengthen muscles, to stabilize joints, and improve balance and posture in a fun way. This program is great way for teens to get in shape or to train for a specific sport. It generally results in improved posture, self-confidence and self-esteem, and even school performance.

Pilates Circuit Training

Pilates Circuit Training© is a 5-week core conditioning program for individuals who are looking for an enjoyable experience that will promote lifelong fitness. The unique and progressive “circuit” approach is performed with Pilates apparatus and is easy to follow.

Each session is 60 minutes and limted to 6 students. The blend of exercise and intensity will ensure a steady progression. The sessions build upon each other to culminate in a mindset and a physical control you will own forever.

The GYROTONIC® Method

The GYROTONIC® Method was created by Julius Horvath, a Hungarian who was a professional dancer in Romania. He developed the method after over 30 years of research focused on healing his injuries from his career as a dancer.

The method – which is based on the principles of dance, yoga, tai-chi and swimming – benefits everyone including athletes, dancers, rehabilitation patients and people of all ages. The method is about the art of movement in three dimensions. It incorporates rhythmic, repetitive movements integrated with breathing that helps:

  • opening energy pathways
  • stimulate the nervous system
  • increase range of motion in the joints
  • build strength and coordination
  • relieve back, neck and hip pain
  • treat arthritis and loss of flexibility

The spiral movements work on fascia release, an internal feeling of lengthening, opening spaces, rejuvenating, restorative.

New & Expectant Mothers

Pilates is an ideal workout regimen for new and expectant mothers because it is completely tailored to the individual’s needs and exercises are adjusted to be safe and gentle for both mother and baby.

Our prenatal sessions are designed to help women strengthen, tone and stretch while preventing common injury or pain in the back, pelvis and hips. Pilates will also strengthen and control those muscles used in delivery. After pregnancy, Pilates will help mothers get back into shape because it specifically targets those areas affected by pregnancy and birth – the body’s core. It is especially good for anyone experiencing Diastasis Recti – a separation of the ab muscles that occurs postpartum.
