After graduating from the Wingate Institute, where I studied back therapeutic exercises, I received a M.Ed. from Boston University. In the thirty years since then, I have been actively promoting fitness and wellness. I am also a certified personal trainer and a Stott Pilates instructor. When I teach, I draw upon my strong background in exercise physiology and kinesiology.

WHAT IS THE PILATES METHOD?
The Pilates method is a system of stretching and toning exercises. Developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s, the method is a combination of exercises that are performed both on mats and on apparatus. The exercises increase core strength, spinal alignment, balance, coordination, and flexibility. The result is a long, lean body.

Pilateens is a Core Conditioning program I created, designed for teenage athletes and non- athletes. It helps to stretch and to strengthen their muscles, stabilize joints, improve balance and posture in a fun way. This program is great way to get in shape either generally or for specific sport. It helps them to understand their bodies building up self- confidence, self- esteem and improve school performance.

Can anyone do Pilates?
Yes, my methodology addresses a variety of fitness abilities, special needs and age levels.
What do you wear?
Wear comfortable exercise clothing that it is not too bulky. Leggings and socks or bare feet are appropriate (no shoes).
When should I see results?
Everybody progresses at their own rate, but after 10 sessions you will start to see and feel a difference in your body.

My goal is to create the right blend of exercises and intensity so everybody can succeed and progress. By evaluating each person individually, analyzing their specific physical skills and limits, I build a tailored exercise program that is geared towards their personal needs and goals. The movements create muscle control which can be applied in our daily activities; the workout becomes a lifelong experience, a fabulous field trip in brain, a lot of fun, never boring.
Because true fitness is a balance of the mind and the body, I shape my sessions to help develop my clients’ emotional and physical health through self-esteem and, in group settings, through teamwork.
